GUILDS AND
GROUPS: (And So Many Others)
The Altar Guild looks after all things pertaining to
the Sanctuary in the Church. They are responsible for set up for all of
the services on Sundays and mid-week, for weddings, funerals, ordinations,
enthronements and all other special events held in the parish. The Altar
Guild also looks after all the linens and frontals used at each altar as well
as the flowers and ordering and taking care of all the candles. Often the care of all vestment falls to
the Altar Guild. They are
considered by many of the clergy as nearly invaluable to the running of a
parish.
Acolyte/Server/Crucifer/Verger, The International Order of Saint Vincent - A worldwide fellowship of lay
ministers associated with liturgy and sanctuary service in the western branches
of the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church. Men, women, boys and girls

preservation of liturgical knowledge, preparation for service, responsibility
and reverence. Members follow a rule of life that includes daily prayer,
reading of Scripture, and regular participation in and reception of the
sacraments.
