OLD & NEW IDEAS

Old & New Ideas

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Luke 2: 13-14 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Peace is a concept that must grow from the love of God.  We must listen to God to know His will for us.  We must be quiet to hear Him.  When we are not worshipping or working we need quiet contemplation, prayer, and study.  It is there, in those moments, that it may be quiet enough to hear…to understand our God.

That doesn’t mean that our concept of peace is never without celebration and joy.  We must shout out our praise for God’s work and wisdom that leads us to peace.

Peace is an action.  We are called by Him to live our lives visibly in a contrary world.  Part of our work as members of the Church is to “do.”  It is the drama of our lives as Christians to be active in our faith.  We must not hide our faith, but let it shine.  We must be active.

James 3: [17] But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
[18] And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

In Christ's love,
